Projects & involvement

Where I work, what I have built and what I am involved in.

Work & teaching

  1. 2007 – today
    TechTalk Architect & facilitator

At TechTalk since 2007: from developer via technical lead and team lead to my current strategic role as architect and facilitator. In large organisations most problems are not technical but organisational: misunderstandings between business, IT and management. That is where I come in. I bring the people involved to one table and make sure organisation and technology fit together.

  2. 2025 – today

Together with Eberhard Wolff and Tom Asel, I developed the curriculum of the iSAQB module COSMO as a curator. In the three-day training, participants learn to bring business, technology and management to one table and make decisions everyone supports. It works best when a team comes together: arriving with shared context, leaving with a shared experience. Precisely because AI speeds up delivery, this shared clarity becomes the bottleneck. The training is offered by TechTalk and socreatory.

  3. 2021 – today
Hochschule Campus Wien Lecturer in software architecture, initiator of the iSAQB partnership

Since winter semester 2021/22 I have been teaching software architecture in the Software Design and Engineering master’s programme at Hochschule Campus Wien. Students work out architecture together on their own project, with collaborative formats such as EventStorming and guided by the international iSAQB standard.

I initiated and set up the partnership between Hochschule Campus Wien and the iSAQB. Since September 2026 the university has been an iSAQB Academic Partner.

Community

  1. 2022 – today

Since 2022 I have been building ComoCamp with the team, the annual unconference for Collaborative Modelling in Vienna. Originally focused on methods, ComoCamp today is a place where people meet to exchange ideas, connect, experiment and learn from each other. Something new keeps emerging: the idea for the iSAQB module COSMO, for example, was born at ComoCamp.

  2. 2018 – today
Collaborate Vienna & Meetups Co-organiser, co-founder of the association

I have been co-organising meetups in Vienna since 2018. In 2022 I co-founded Collaborate Vienna, the non-profit association behind ComoCamp and the meetups Domain-Driven Design Vienna, Microservices, Reactive and Distributed Systems Vienna and Softwarearchitektur Wien.

  3. 2024 – today
    COMO@Academia Initiator, co-lead

Together with Oleksandr Kosenkov I lead COMO@Academia, a working group that wants to bring Collaborative Modelling into teaching and research. Our goal: make the skills that collaborative modelling requires teachable, and build evidence that modelling together leads to better results faster.

Roots

  1. since 2007
ALM, DevOps & open source Developer, developer coach, open source contributor

I accompanied organisations through ALM and DevOps transformations, far beyond introducing TFS and Azure DevOps, and made MSBuild understandable and extensible. To this day I contribute to open source projects such as SpecFlow, today Reqnroll: with code, but also with organisation, issue triage and concept work.
